7 Packaging Finishes That Instantly Elevate Your Brand
Foil stamping, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch lamination — when each finish is worth the money, and when it is not.

Soft-touch lamination
A velvety matte film that makes a box feel considerably more expensive than it is. It is the highest perceived-value-per-dollar finish available, and it pairs beautifully with spot UV.
Foil stamping
Metallic foil pressed into the board. Best used sparingly — a foiled logo on an otherwise restrained box reads as luxury; foil everywhere reads as loud.
Spot UV
A glossy varnish applied to selected areas only. On a matte box it creates a subtle contrast you notice by touch before you notice by eye.
Emboss and deboss
Raising or recessing part of the design into the board. Debossing a logo into thick rigid board is one of the most tactile, understated ways to signal quality.
Windows and inserts
A PVC or PET window lets the product sell itself. A snug foam or board insert stops it rattling around — and makes the unboxing feel deliberate rather than accidental.
